Verizon Business Rolls Out Managed UC

Verizon Business has a new managed unified communications and collaboration solution it’s offering to enterprise customers worldwide. The product is based on the Unified Communications Manager 6.1 platform from Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO).

Available immediately in the U.S. and in many European countries, a launch is planned in the Asia-Pacific early next year.

The solution, designed to help businesses like early adopter Del Monte Foods to better communicate both internally and with their partners, gives customers one interface through which to access both e-mail and voice mail. The service’s unified presence feature delivers visibility into a user’s availability to chat by phone or instant messaging.
