Hibernia Metro Adds PoPs to Redundant Transport Services in NY

10/10/2007

Hibernia Metro, which offers transport products to customers requiring a presence in and around New York City, added two new PoPs to its redundant transport services. The new PoPs are located at 300 Boulevard E., in Weehawken, N.J., and 75 Broad St., in New York City. Hibernia Metro, a subsidiary of TransAtlantic transport cable provider Hibernia Atlantic, provides customers with connectivity to metro markets in the northeast United States and Canada.

“The difficult lessons learned both in the U.K. and in the U.S. over the recent years have taught communications providers that no level of catastrophic preparedness and backup physical redundancies can be too great,“ said Bjarni K. Thorvardarson, CEO of Hibernia Atlantic. “Therefore, we are proud to announce that Hibernia Metro continues to meet this challenge with the addition of two new PoPs in the traditionally congested, and potentially vulnerable, New York metro area.“

Hibernia Metro's services in New York include 10-gig LAN PHY, gigabit Ethernet in increments of 50mbps, Fast Ethernet in increments of 50mbps and 100mbps, Ethernet circuits (packet over SONET), and a full suite of SONET/SDH circuits.
